LOL on the bunkbed tomato cages! You're right about that.  Yesterday I hacked 
most of them back to the new growth at the base -- didn't trim enough when 
they were younger and they look like creeping ivy right now.  They've got 
tree trunks, it looks like.  May be able to harvest them for lumber in a few 
months.
