>> So, care to share that dandelion wine recipe?
Well, thanks for sharing.

------------------------------------
Loved it Pat! I have yet to find an herbal list with this depth.
Clue me in?
I think we can go 4 dandylions to a SqFt. 3 may be perfect, but that would be
alternating triangle patterns. Not sure if that's legal...
Any sites carry this seed? LOL!
I bake bread almost daily, and use no recipe, that a 'modern' person (almost
said 'woman,' whew!) would recognise as such. I figured out tortillas by
decoding package nutrients with EXCEL. It did all the conversions. (Makes
adjusting recipe quanities so so easy too!)
I was given another tortilla recipe tonight from my 23 yr old son's gal, via
net. She learned it from her mom. Flour, water, baking soda. Mix by hand,
Flatten and throw on "comal."
You have most of the recipe. That lightly pressed Qt of yellow petals, from
2-4 pecks of tops from the field, made into a Qt of tea and strained. Toss
into 5 gal stoneware crock (tested for lead maybe) with sugar and yeast.
Cover w/cheese cloth or a dish towel. (Tie w/string. Fruit flies spoil it.)
Like any wine. Sweeter? More sugar. Yeast, oh, a cake or pkg for each 1-2
gallons. Sugar, 3-4 ls. Oh, for low acid wines, sometomes lemon juice is
added. Say an ounce a gal. Whatever. Store in cool place. Bottle when
ready. Bubbles stop. Or almost stop for champagne. What, 1-2 months?
She had no hygrometer. Sterilize all. Usual stuff. (Raisins for an added
kick! How many? A handful. Half a cup maybe, depending n how many she had on
hand. I'll bet her recipe had some #s for others. I'm not sure where it is.
The pear wine was Rose de Anjiou or similar spelling.
Wish we could make bread together someday. Or pancakes. Teach your kids to
try stuff. They should have a SqFt all their own. I do not want my boys
leaving home w/o cooking or sewing or gardening skills. The school sewing
class is terrible. We even have "Outdoor Ed." Camp for a week, in public
school. No prayer, but camp. Oh well. Oh it's nice.. but where's mom and
dad and the tent? Heck. Who needs a tent. Maybe a hoop. (This is no joke.
It shelters the head if it rains. This is what the sleeping bag end is for.)
All you need is a few, "Sq Ft."
Bill
Got an easier rose wine recipe. Ready to pick in 6 weeks.
No fuss, no muss. From a doctor. It only takes 1 Sq Ft to make.
Here or OT/elsewhere? I'm easy...
