LOL -- my dogs *donate* in the woods, I'm pleased to say. I am counting on
them to patrol the property and keep the deer at bay, but I've kept them in
the garage during all these cold winter nights we've been having and
haven't had the heart yet to turn them out, but I will (um, eventually).
The other thing keeping them in the garage has done is cut down on midnight
barking -- we're out in the country and we have an ABUNDANCE of neat things
to bark at and keep off the property including, alas, occasional dumped
dogs like my two utterly fab and incredibly beautiful all black part-Chow /
part Lab or something were last summer. (No, I'm not TOO crazy about my
dogs.) 

Now the Christmas tree blinking lights, there's a novel idea. Would be
quite beautiful if done with an eye towards aesthetics, too. Heck, in that
case who'd care if it kept the deer out or not? <g>
