Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

"Whoo, boy! That's one dumb question!"
{That's just to wake Margaret up...<G>)

Gravel...NO! Unless you are converting to hydroponics. As a medium in
clayponics or dirtponics it s nutrient poor and ties up volume better usesd by
air(25%) water(25%) or anything else such as dirt, compost, manure roots, or
mycellium (50%).

Dog: NO! Get a Doggie DOO or make on w/ a 5 gal bucket and locate it 5-15 ft
from a tree.

Lurking: How new r u so we know how much you have missed. We can say "that
thread discussed ___- and was a month back, see archives, etc."

Intensive: Sure. old time gardeners called it "I had a bare spot so I put a
dozen carrots in to fill the dirt and shade it. The shade issue will be
particularly helpful to root comfort and soil moisture and will probably be
absolutely required for cooler crops such as lettuce.

Scheduling: We are messing with demonstrating just how much a hassle it is if
not organized and how to do so. Calendars are a start... Followed by a
journal or notepad. Katherine is doing a Filemaker version. I use Excel and
have good appreciation for the versatility and addibility of a common
cspreadsheet. I track everything and an evangelizzing a tiny bit there.
File maker will import Excel, as will Access.

If you want to shoot the beeeze, try gardentalk at egroups also. If other
interests, speak up. Aquaponics, mushrooms, robotics.

Tonight at 10 PM EST ???? there will be a chat. This is a 2nd and 4th Sat
deal, which a few of us will add an informal Saturday to, tonight. Chat is
new to me. Mel's concept to some of us, represents merely an organized
compendium of all various factors under one cover. Try to have it read by
tonight. <G>
