yes,,,,you definitely need drainage....drill holes about every 6 inches or so...you can place some hardware cloth or screen mesh to keep the dirt from getting out of your holes...
but without drainage,,,,your plants would soon drown...
be sure to have good support under your bed..plywood and soil are very heavy...especially when it gets wet...
