Sorry about the cross post..Too many sq ft lists I guess. LOL

Rob,
Talk about a brain fart, I know what pi is but thanks you all for reminding
me. LOL. I wasn't even thinking about the dynamics of mathematics when I
asked. Thanks for the update on the formula.

Hi Jessica,
3.14 is pi (*), the number found by ancient Greek
mathematicians (or so we're told) to be a constant
number when figuring out circular (and other)
measurements.
And ya know what, I gave the wrong calculation out. (I
wrote out the formula for finding the area within a
circle.)
To calculate the cirumference of a circle, the formula
is pi x Diameter.
So, a 5 foot diamater compost bin made of a circle
chicken wire requires 3.14 x 5 feet diameter = 15.7
feet of chicken wire, call it 15'9" (15.75 feet).
A 3 foot diameter bin requires 9.42 feet of chicken
wire (3.14 x 3 feet), you could round that up to 9 1/2
feet.
I was a nerd in school. Now I'm a gardener, among
other things (even my wife call me a geek). :)

Enjoy!
