have had the Sq foot gardening book for few years and have only
been
dreaming of using this technique. We
live in Middle Georgia I
am not sure of my zone. I have HOT summers and
some freezing in the
winter. I would
like to know how to start. What kind of wood do
I use to make the 4x4
sq raised beds? We have clay here in
GA,
thus I am planing on making the soil Mel tells us about in the
book.

I have
used 1*6 rough cut lumber. You could use most any scrap
lumber no
thinner than 1 inch. Try to make them 1 ft. deep at least as
with
your clay soil you may need that depth.
