Are you sure the ants ate them and not birds? i've never seen ants eat
any vegetables or fruits...mostly reak havoc in the root systems so it
is a problem when we are pulling up plants.

SQ>I had some black ants last year, but they weren't exactly small ones. I
SQ>don't think that they bite or at least I never got bit by one. But I did
SQ>plant strawberries in some large clay strawberry pots for my patio and the
SQ>ants not only moved into them but they ate all my berries too! I didn't
SQ>poison them but I bet they'll be back eventhough I have no strawberry plants
SQ>left. I guess that's another problem I'll have to figure out how to solve as
SQ>soon as they wake up from their winter snooze. Being this is my first year
SQ>for planting tomatoes, now I'm wondering, will these ants eat them too?
