I have grown tomatos from seed in South Florida, which is warm (80
degrees-plus during the day and 60-70 degreees at night, and they
germinated very quickly. So easily, in fact, that I now just put them
in flats and set them outside with protection overhead. They get
enough sunlight so they aren't leggy. I water from the bottom until
they germinate and then carefully from the top, using seaweed
fertilizer to make them strong. This sure beats heating mats and
elaborate setups inside.
