Garden layout software

Try Expert Software's "Landscape Design 3D".
It was $12.50 at our local expensive boutique computer store. It does a
nice job, lots of hardscapes, turfs, garden knick knacks/furniture. The tree
graphics leave a little to be desired. Many graphics should have different
tree/shrub names IMO. It has a small (400) plant database, search, a
checklist for pricing costs, lots of great features. For $12.50, it was well
worth the money.
From what I've read about most Garden software, you can do nearly as nice a
job with a legal pad and a pencil. If you don't want to spend to much, and
mostly want a new toy to play with, Expert Softwares "Landscape Design 3D"
is a great landscaping software program.
They also have Home Design 3D, Easy Home Gardening, Flower Gardening,
Vegetable Gardening. All the same price. We have Home 3D and Easy Home
Gardening. I use the easy home gardening as a *nonsearchable* garden journal.
From what I've seen, for what I'm willing to spend, Gardening software
still isn't taking advantage of a computers strenghths.
 I want a huge database with (40,000+) plants/trees/shrubs/vines/veggies
with full color clickable pictures in seedling, 4 season, fruit, different
cultivar-size/bloom color/habit. A *searchable* garden journal with a
calendar with 4 or 5 different icons for different days of the month to
trigger to do lists. Ability to Import new plants, pictures, all in one CAD
landscape/garden journal/plant database software for under $70.

I would avoid Garden Architect (unsure of maker) due to some negative
comments from other people that include *system crashes*.

Any further info would be greatly appreciated.
Hope this helps
