Hi Toni,

When the beans seeds sprout on the damp towelling,  the root has a tendency
to  sprout down through the paper.  If you try to remove the seed from the
towel, many times the root will end up broken.

I like to presprout beans.  So I arrange the beans down the length of the
towel , spacing them about two inches apart and presprout them.  After
presprouting, I carefully cut the towel so that each bean remains in its own
section, sprinkle a little inoculant in planting hole and plant bean and
towel together. The bean structure remains intact and the towel decomposes
in the soil.
