Gosh, Francine, they all sound great to me. Here in So. Cal.,
though our soil is rocky, it is pretty decent all around,
so we opted for no raised beds because we decided we wanted
the flexibility from fall to spring to fall to change our
designs and layouts. I think it depends on how bad your
soil is 6 inches down, how much work (or expense) you
want to put into it, and whether you're going to change
your mind and want to move it over or take it apart, and
how often. I would probably opt for the logs over the rocks,
because here we have lots of river rocks we dig out, and if
we used them to surround our beds, we would be farming
slugs and snails, and not veggies!
Good luck
