Summer heat zone map

Hi!  I hope someone can help me.  This is my first year for sqft gardening.
(My last garden was about 20 years ago, the regular long row variety.)
Anyway, here I am in hot, humid Florida.  Just moved here last year, only to
watch the summer sun totally bake most of the flowers I planted.  So, I'm
concerned the same thing will happen to the vegetables.  Anybody know where
I can find the new zone map based on summer heat?  Also, to those folks
living in northern Florida, what grows successfully through this hot, humid
summer?
