I checked (I found a good source online) and the average date of the
last spring frost for this area is April 30th/May 1st give or take a
few days for the town you're in. All of those listed were a bit north
of where we are, and they tend to be a few degrees colder than we do.
I'd like to set up a mini weather station/observatory to record the
local temperature where we are. My husband thinks we have our own
little mini ecosystem due to the lay of the mountains.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but we are permanently living in our
airstream until at such time when we have a more permanent structure
to live in. We'll be mounting this thing on a base eventually and
taking the axles off. It's never leaving this mountain again. We
almost ripped the back end off getting it in here.
Eventually, likely in a few years, we'd like to build an earthship
into the side of the mountain about 3/4 of the way up on the southern
facing side. The top of the mountain is about 4000 ft and where we are
now is about 3500 ft. We're in a grove off the base of the mountain
(hard for me to describe really). So our current garden plot will be
used for several years.

Sorry for the mix up before.
