I start my winter planting of snap peas in 6-packs. We get too much rain
at this season to get reliable germination directly in the soil. I have
never tried bare root transplanting but the 6-packs provide good drainage
and I don't recall having ever lost a transplant. I have also done this
with sweet peas. In fact we can buy garden peas in 6-packs at the local
nursery.
