I also start my peas indoors and transplant out. I recycle the boxes that
Rice or Soy milk comes in, cut them in half, and plant 2-4 pea seeds per
half box. In fact, I usually end up taking them out from under the lights
and stick them in the gloomy window and they don't mind in the least.
Seems to work great, and they're actually very hardy plants. They would
never have germinated in the middle of this horrible drenching storm
outdoors, but the transplants I snuck out on the single dry day in the past
two weeks, and tucked up with some are climbing the back fence like crazy
and digging the weather.
