My home is 5 blocks from the center of the city so I guess you could say
I have an urban square foot garden. As "Urban" as Bethlehem PA pop.
70,000 can be. Anyway, my question/idea centers around nice looking
vertical supports for tomatoes, cukes, etc. I'm using bamboo teepees and
plan to get terra cotta finials for the tops. My home is brick so the
terra cotta will go nicely.
What ideas do you all have for making vertical supports look good? Also,
has anyone used vertical crops not only nutritionally but also as living
fence or privacy shield?
My vertical crops border an alley behind my place and I would like to
create some level of privacy with beans or cukes, tomatoes etc.
Another thing related to garden beauty...remember (in the movie
Twister)all the really neat wind chimes and related wind sculptures the
aunt had in her yard. I'm looking for stuff like that. I want a really
neat weather vane and I can't seem to find anything with any real
imagination. Any suggestions?
Thanks
