I read an article a few months ago about someone who had lettuce all through
the winter. It even showed them picking some when everything around them was
covered with snow. They had used an old storm door to protect their small
garden. The glass let light in and helped to warm the soil. So if the garden
is quite small (small enough for a storm door to cover it) I don't see why you
couldn't use it.
