Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
I've grown melons in slings before, but they were small melons. I have
several dobermans that appreciate eating vegetables out of the garden as much
as I do, so my garden is fenced. I actually had one dog watch me pick the
veggies one day, then broke open the fence, picked a similar assortment (of
course many weren't ready, but she's new to gardening) then left them in a
pile for me. I think she was disappointed when I wasn't very happy. Back to
the melons, I had some kind of net bag, can't remember what I bought in it,
and I loosely cradled the melons in it. My melons were planted at the edge of
the garden and I directed them up the outside fencing. Worked well, but I
didn't get too many. Lauren
