My ABOVE GROUND Potatoes!!!

Just checked them about 30 minutes ago.  They are doing great.  I'm so
surprised!!

We tilled, tilled, and even tilled some more a plot about 6'x10' for potatoes.
We raked it and raked it and picked all the roots and grass out of the soil.
Then, we tilled in tons of leaves (so that the soil was 1/2 leaves and 1/2
dirt).   So this raised the soil level alot.  Then I placed the potato eyes up
and put a little soil over them.  Then we covered the plot with another layer
of leaves.   We're using oak leaves.   Then we watered the plot really well.
The potatoes have been in the ground for a little over 1 week now.

So I checked them this morning because we had a little cooler weather at the
end of this past week and over the weekend.   Well, several of the eyes have
taken root into the soil really well.   The  stems are turning a darker green
(they were white).  So it looks like this might work ok.  I hope so!!!   I'll
keep everyone updated!!
