From Mel Bartholomew's _Square Foot Gardening_, p 47. He prefaces the lists
with this statement, "In general, leaf and root vegetables don't require as
much sun to produce a good harvest as do fruit and seed crops. Although all
will do good in full sun, some crops can produce a respectable harvest in
partial sun. Sun-loving crops will grow in partial shade, too, but they
won't bear well. If you have no other choice than to locate your garden in
partial shade, you can still get a good crop. The key to success lies in
choosing your vegetables carefully".
Partial Sun (4-6 hours a day):
Beets, Carrots, Cauliflower, Swiss Chard,Cucumber, Lettuce, Onions, Parsley,
Peas, Radishes. Spinach, Winter Squash.
Full sun (over 6 hours a day):
Beans, Broccoli, Cabbage, Corn, Eggplant, Muskmelons, Summer squash,
Tomatoes
