Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Carolgirl et al,
I described one of two (#2 has raised bed but no blocks YET) so I have 22
plants for myself.
The Territorial Seed Catalog states that "Jersey Knight" variety (all male)
will produce 7 - 9 THIN spears per season. I seem to remember 5 - 6 spears
years ago from my "Mary Washington" patch which succumbed to wet feet within
3 yrs of maturity.
My guess is that 4 - 6 spears of the thick varieties, more if a thin
variety, would be a reasonable expectation from MATURE (IN SITE) plants.
This will be first (light) harvest of my '97 (seed) planting. Buying roots
will save a year.
"Hope this helps. As always is the case, your own research is the most
reliable.
