I am making something that I haven't tested yet so take it with a cup and a
half of salt. I've got some 6 foot tall 2x4 fencing and I made a 11 inch
square box out of it. Now I am going to set it in a small amount of concrete
2" thick and 4" high so that it forms a little footer for the fence all the
way around it. I'm hoping that this will hold it rigid and upright so that I
can place it over a tomato or sweet potato start and have a easily moveable
sq. ft trellis.
I'll take pictures.

I usually use string. But this week I noticed something that probably
should have been obvious to me. I measured some new beds on the ground, then
measured and drew lines on the soil to plant some seeds. Later I wanted to
plant some herbs around the broccoli and such but had watered out my lines.
So I remeasured the lines. I realized that since I measured correctly the
first time, I could trust my measurements the second time and I wouldn't dig
up my seeds. Now I have a wooden ruler out there to remeasure at my
convenience.
