Y2K Bug attacks Windows

My dad had his PC tested the other day. It had
this kind of sticker on it which said that it was
Year 2000 safe - BUT (!) there is a great
probability that, despite all passed "Y2K" tests, your
PC *might* still crash and data could get lost.
This is due to a little glitch in Microsoft's check to
see whether their OS is Y2K compliant. The error
is very simple to correct and takes about 20
seconds. And who knows? It might just save you a
few hours of work...

Follow these instructions point by point:

1.Click on 'START', then 'SETTINGS' then on
"CONTROL PANEL"
2.Double click on "REGIONAL SETTINGS" icon (look
for that little world globe icon)
3.Click on the 'DATE' tab at the top of the
screen. (Last tab on the top right)
4.Where it says, "SHORT DATE SAMPLE", check
whether it displays the current date as
                           follows: mm/dd/yy. Unless you've previously
changed it (and you probably haven't) it will
be set in this format, thus being incorrect.
It needs to be set with 4 y's for the year.
5.Check the place where it says "SHORT DATE
STYLE" and add another 2 y's to the end,
resulting in something like "mm/dd/yyyy" or
"m/dd/yyyy".
6.Apply the changes and you're done.

Reboot the system, lean back and sigh - you
escaped! Level complete! :-)
