there to find steam billowing from it! stick my hand in and I could,
but just for a second it was so hot!

I need to learn this and have read about it a lot recently.
Did you buy a bag of it (1 cu ft?) for a small pile?
A pile of what, BTW? How old was the pile's content and what?
What was the temp in Tulsa? How moist is the pile?
How big, seems to be very important, for it to reach
"critical mass." I assume it's not in one of those
plastic compost containers. 105 is a hot bath, 115 a hot shower.
A candy or BBQ thermo will tell you.

For mushroom growing, composting's somewhat critical
for a good crop. I'm wondering if the chicken manure I
can get is fresh enuf' to use and get the heat.
