how to keep track?

How do you all keep track of what you're supposed to be doing,
and when? I can figure out when to start my seeds or plant seedlings, but
I mean, all the other stuff, like fertilizing, preparing soil, etc. I'm
afraid I'll forget to do some of this stuff once the season comes in. All
I ever did in the past was to weed, water and look for bugs. Each plant
seems to have such different requirements, that I'm not sure I'll remember, or I
will get tired of looking it up in the book.
