I got my saffron crocus from Shepherd's seeds (one of my favorite catalogs)
www.shepherdseeds.com $15 for 24. I have 25 asparagus and 24 saffron
crocus in a 4'X6' bed. I am an organic gardener and usually add steer
manure once or twice a year. Someone suggested that there might be a
problem with watering the crocus in the summer. We have no rain in the
summer, so I run the drip system twice a week during the summer. The crocus
seem to tolerate this. Some crocus are poisonous, so I would not recommend
putting any flowers in my vegetable garden unless I knew they were edible.
