Does anyone have any knowledge of what problems might arise if I used old
railroad ties to edge my beds. There is supposed to be some extensive
repairs done on the spur beside my garden and I plan to ask them to dump the
ties my way. They would roll right down into place. God knows the tracks
in our area need repair. The engineers refuse to travel the recommended
speed they are that bad. >>
Gee I'm glad I don't use the train!!!!
As to using the ties..I'd use them ONLY in flower beds...NOT near the
edibles!!! Too much oil and creosote!!! But they would look nice around
flower beds or trees/shrubs ...maybe to make adge for a Japanese rock
garden....or lining a walkway to edge a planting bed there...or to make a
terraced flower bed in an outof the way corner... don't mind me I'm just
mumbling and looking out at all the snow covering the raised beds I STILL
haven't gotten around to making....sigh.......
