Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Well, last year I planted my SFG corn too late (Silver Queen). But we've had
an odd winter here in So Cal, USDA 9, Sunset 21/22, and the dang stuff is
still growing. About a month ago, out of curiosity, we coldframed it and it
continues to grow. Slowly, admittedly, not enthusiastically at all, but it's
hanging in there. No corn, no tassels, none of that, but corn plants
nonetheless.
Now the question. This week, it's started putting up new little corn plants
from the base of the existing eight plants. Each one has a separate corn
seedling growing up right next to the big plant.
Should I just let it grow? Cut the big plant down and give the seedling a
chance? Snip the seedling?
Do I have any chance of someday getting corn, you think?
