I can't agree with you, Lisa, more!
I've been using the APS for several years and will never go back. The only
thing I don't use them for are a few melons and cucumbers which have such
sensitive roots and I put in peat pots.
Check them out at
http://www.gardeners.com as they have loads of other great stuff.
I start with their germinating mix and then when ready to transplant go to
their transplant mix.
They're prices are cheaper sometimes if you purchase 2 of an item.
Try them out, they're great! And for the square foot garden which is so
specific as to number of plants, it's easy to plant only what you want. I
don't find I waste seeds or seedlings at all as much as with flats or trays.
