Scott,
In SQFT gardening, we are suppose to keep the square in constant production.
Plant, harvest, plant something else. That automatic crop rotation.
If one plants tomatoes in the same soil over and over the chances of the
plants developing disease increases. A couple of solutions, rotate plants,
rotate the soil, remove and replace the soil, chemically treat the soil to
kill any bacteria, ie a weak bleach solution. If you do treat the soil, be
sure to add compost to replenish "good" bacteria to the soil. I do the
bleach.
