According to my Shepherds Seed catalog, you cook them 7 to 10 mins., always add a pinch of sugar to the water to point up their flavor. When sprouts are just tender-crisp, drain and toss with butter and a pinch of nutmeg or crushed caraway seed. (a cancer-fighting brassica member, excellent source of Vit. A and C in cold weather months).
Note: I steam my B.S. with carrots, then add butter and nutmeg!
