Hi,
First, garlic: I planted some garlic last November, and
was wondering when to harvest it. How do you know when it's ripe
(is that the right word?) and how do you harvest it - pull the
whole plant up? If that's the case, can I break apart one of
them and replant the cloves? Right now there are green stalks
coming all over the bed I used for them.
Second, and I apologize for this being off-topic (I
assume most people aren't growing fig trees in their square foot
gardens), can anyone point me to a place on the internet where
I can find out more about these? I have one that came with the
house, and all the leaves have fallen off - since I don't know
anything about fig trees in general, or mine in particular (age,
type, etc.), I don't know if this is normal, or if I am doing
something wrong. I did an internet search and came up with
nothing at all (unless you count a place to buy them).
Thanks in advance, and I appreciate the great list -
this will be my first square foot garden (or any garden at all -
first house), and I am really looking forward to it.
