Eggplant question...


Howdy hi,

I'm just in the process of ordering seeds for the upcoming season.
For the last few years, I've been planting Burpee's Hybrid eggplant.
It has been a wonderful producer and it's easy to grow healthy,
strong plants.  I even grew some in 5-gallon buckets (hint for those
short on space) one year and they were wonderful, productive plants.

Here's the rub.  I grew up eating thinly sliced, crisply fried and
pungent eggplants.  Yes, pungent or, maybe, peppery.  I like that!
Does anyone know of a variety that hasn't had this, desirable-to-me,
characteristic bred out of it?  Any recommendations?
