I have veggies in planters, using the 1/2 barrel planters (whiskey casks).
The SqFt book doesn't list planting distances for strawberries. How many
can I put in a 24 inch diameter pot (the above barrels)? What do I do
about runners, do I cut them off or let them fill in?
Despite what others have said about peppers, I get good results placing 6
around the perimeter of a barrel, with a larger plant in the center (last
year I planted the peppers around first year bare root roses). Each plant
doesn't get huge, but the crop is good nonetheless, about 5-6 peppers from
each plant, then they bloomed again (indian summer) and another 2-3 per
plant. (These were mixed bells, red and yellow when fully ripened.)
