Were they winter or summer squash? If summer then the fruit you bought
weren't mature so the seeds wont grow but if winter then go for it. I fished
the seeds out of an ornamental mini punkin type thingy one year, dried them
over silica gel for about 4 days and got 100% germination. Then I planted
them out and got 100% fatality from bug attack!
