Copper Pipe

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

My slope is finally done (I'll have pictures soon) and it's time to build a
few trellises. I have built them in the past with the 1/2" electrical tubing
which Mel describes in his book. The only thing I didn't like about those
was the somewhat flimsy connections. I was looking at using 1/2" copper pipe
and soldering it together. The advantage here is that it will be more sturdy
and will turn green over time. Has anybody done this? Is there any
disadvantage to using copper (other than cost)?
