I used 8 foot 1/2" galvanized water pipe, pre cut and pre threaded. Just
screw it together using standard elbows and "T's". I had to have 2 pieces
cut and threaded, no addidional cost at my local hardware store. Pushed them
one foot in the ground and attached them to the sides of my raised beds. They
work great. Don't know if they would be cheaper than copper, but I bet they
are stronger.
