Square Foot Gardening List - http://myweb.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
I thought something was wrong with my email there for while but I guess not.
I'm still here and wondered if anyone knows what these little black beetles
with orange spots(sort of a reverse lady bug) are on the tope of my pole
beas. They seem to be sucking the leaves dry.I clipped the tops off cuz they
were growing beyond the boundaries of the trellis and sprayed with dishsoap
mixed with a little mouthwash in water and they stay away for several days
then are back- any ideas? Boy- I wish that I had known about this
pollination problem when I planted- I would have included more flowers in
the garde and planted more things that could bolt- I am letting the cilantro
bolt and have naturtums all over but not alot of vegies are showing up - a
couple of cukes a few maters and -lots of patty pans.Is dill a good
attracter of bees? We always had loads of it growing all around the
perimeter of the garden for pickling. Being a novice gardener I am sure I
did many things wrong and am wondering what casued this thing:My patty pan
seems to have one vine that is growing cucumbers. Really. I thought maybe
there was a cuke in the same place but the vine is definitely attached to
the patty pan. There are cukes planted all around-Could they have cross
polinated? So far just flowers - no fruits but they look exactly like the
cukes. Go figure.-Teri
