Jim, the only problem I see with using ties lined with plywood is that they take up so much room. You have about 8 inches of wasted space around the perimeter. Margaret L
I have to agree with Margaret on the fir boards. My earlier comment pertained to the fact that I had an excess of treated ties that I used after treating them with a seal coat and lining the inside. I also have untreated fir framed beds that are going into their 6th season and show few signs of deteriating. Good luck Jim
