Yes, watering or hosing off is recommended for early morning so the plant will have the day to recover before cool night brings fungi. Margaret LAlso, thoughts on whitefly and aphids? They are eating up the melons. I did some damage control and cut off the dead leaves, but I need to get ahead of them. Several books said to spray the leaves off to get rid of the aphids, but I know that melons have mildew problems. If I do it in the am, will I be okay? Many thanks all!
