Re: Eggshells, and worm bucket alternatives


Re adding eggshells to the compost pile: I allow mine to dry a day or so,
then powder them in food processor before throwing on pile.

For the person that composts with worms:

Who says ya gotta use buckets?  Try the big plastic storage boxes, such as
Rubbermaid makes. They come in all sorts of sizes....tall and skinny, short
and wide, also various colors from see-thru to solid non-light transmitting.
You can spray paint the outside black to keep out light (rough it up
w/sandpaper first), or wrap with black plastic. Heck, you could even use
plastic garbage bags if you're really desperate.
