I don't want to ------------------------------------------------- Solarization is supposed to be about 90 percent effective against nematodes. I solarize my plots every summer during July and early August, because it's the hottest time of year, the sun is the highest in the sky, and the experts say to do it then. Of course, I live in South Texas where our tomatoes were done by June 20th. I have two long beds under plastic now. I've done it for three years. The year I didn't do it, I noticed that fungal diseases were much more prevelant--in fact, they were epidemic. So that's why I solarize--blight, etc. Literature from the U. of Florida states that nematodes are killed. Also, if you use marigolds, I understand you have to plant them in large blocks.
