Eating My Tomatoes

Folks, I have been following the thread about slugs, etc. attacking
tomatoes, and then started finding some of my tomatoes attacked! Did not
look like insects since about one or two of my Roma's each day would be 1/3
to a 1/2 eaten from the bottom... Well last night I discovered the varmint -
literally two mice halfway up my cherry tomato plants having supper. Not
bashful about it either! One of them had to be shook out of the plant before
it ran off. I am not sure where their nest is, but I remembered how a
couple of years ago in the fall I was rototilling my sq.ft. beds and I
started turning up a family of mice. Amazingly only one was destroyed, the
rest ran into the neighbors yard. I have treated lumber frames around my sq
ft beds and the mice had burrowed in under the frame at the rear of the bed
and had a nest inside my garden.

Any ideas on discouraging their return?
