I have planted tomatillos every year here in New Hampshire and I am consistently BURIED by fruit. I planted this years seedling about the 5th of July (very late, I know) and I already have fruit. However, I have never planted less than four plants. I plant them one per foot, just as if they were tomatoes, and I use a tomato cage to contain the sprawling plants. Try planting another, even if its very close to the first. It might help.
