Hi:
I planted tomatillos for the first time this year. So far 2 plants have
survived. But thee are many, many tomatillos growing! I've had to cut the
things back so that they didn't take over!
I read that tomatillos love hot, hot, dry weather. They don't like alot of
water. I have mine mulched with that red tomato plastic and don't water them
too much. I started both from seed in February. They've been outside since
the end of May (with alot of protection from the cold with remay). The real
fruit production has started within the last 3 weeks.
I live in NH, so growing conditions are similar to the person who posted the
question. We've had a week of chilly weather and I've noticed alot of flower
drop.
Hope this helps! Good luck.
Toni
