Re: Pollinators and error correction
Martha and all
No shame in an honest mistake, certainly no shame in the admission of an
error. Most learning is accomplished by failure (certainly true in my
case). Thankfully you were not attacked, nor your opinion sullied by a
little person with too much spare time. That is an ad hominem attack of
the worst kind.
That is one thing I dislike most about the net and most listservs. Small
minds who discover one minor error in an otherwise true and correct
statement and attack as if there were points to score. Small minds focus
on small errors it seems.
Speaking of pollinators. I informed the list about my baby bumble bees
the other day and researched them. It seems that they are not very
smart. They spend most of the first half of their lives trying to figure
out the beneficial pollens for their sustenance. In other words they
have to learn which plants have beneficial pollen. These guys are pretty
damned stupid right now as they have decided that male corn pollen is
edible. I would bet that they are hungry also.
