If I did I was too naive to notice.  My tomatoes were wonderful that 
year.  My peppers and onions were not but that may have been 
inexperience.

I am slowly working my way into veg. gardening.  I grow what I know 
we will eat as well as one or two "experiments".  I have never had 
success growing nice peppers (could be variety selection/growing 
ability).  1998 is the first year I have had "success" with onions.  
They haven't been harvested yet so the jury is out on the success 
story but I have more plants than in previous years (I grew onions 
from bulbs - think they are called sets - rather than seed or 
plants.)
