Arg, I hate to post this, I know you're gonna beat me up, but...
In this past few years I've used your Home Depot variety gopher poisons
in a few different areas of my yard. I've made sure that soil never
migrates into my garden.
Not too long ago I put weed-killer on the lawn. I tossed the first
mowing after that into the garbage rather than putting it in my compost
heap, and I've since converted the mower to a mulcher so it leaves the
grass where it's cut.
But...do any of you know anything about how long various yard poisons
remain active? Eventually can I safely begin putting grass clippings
back into the compost? What about the soil with the gopher poison?
I can't supply details of exactly which poisons and weed-killers because
I'm not at home where the packages are. For now I'm looking for general
guidelines.
