Re: Region 3?

Howard Garrett is a Texas organic gardening author. He divides Texas into 5
gardening regions. The "regions" on his map appear to follow the first and
last expected freeze dates, thus considering the heat zone as well as the
hardiness zone in his planting date recommendations. That's really important
in Texas where we sometimes have temperatures hovering around 100 for 3 or 4
months. The lines for his "regions" do not follow the lines of the USDA
Hardiness Zone map.

If you move to Texas, try some of his books. I've found his advice very
reliable. Oh, by the way, I posted that message in error. It should have
gone to another list!
